Statement of Policy
Payments are accepted in the form of post-dated cheques.
Cheques returned NSF will be subject to a $35 late fee due by the end of the month. Lessons will be suspended should an account fall more than one month in arrears.
We reevaluate rates periodically. We’ll give You 30 days advance notice of any rate or policy changes.
Teachers do not deal with payments for lessons. All questions and concerns regarding payment should be directed to the office.
We reserve the right to cancel a lesson for any reason. When possible, we will give You notice at the beginning of the month and payment for that month will be adjusted. We can substitute Instructors at our discretion.
Once matched with a teacher through Miss Mozart In Home School of Music we hope you will continue with the lessons for the remainder of the school year. Should it become necessary to find a new teacher, every effort will be made, but cannot be guaranteed. In this case, your post-dated cheques for the remainder of the school year will be destroyed or returned, or a partial refund (if you have paid for the full year) will be arranged.
Lessons can be cancelled altogether with at least two weeks written notice.
Teachers are independent contractors for Miss Mozart In Home School of Music. Miss Mozart will make a reasonable effort to ensure that teachers are qualified,
A quiet, non-smoking environment must be provided for in-home lessons. If a student is under the age of 18, a parent or responsible guardian must remain in the home during the lesson. Parents are also required to be present for lessons if lessons occur at a Miss Mozart Approved studio if the student is under the age of 18. Please keep pets in a separate room while the instructor is there. Parents are welcome (and encouraged!) to observe lessons at any time.
Cancellations can be made by phoning the teacher at least 24 hours in advance. A make-up lesson will be provided to a maximum of three rescheduled lessons per school year. Teachers are not required to reschedule lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. No refund will be given for lessons cancelled without appropriate notice or missed without notification. Should a teacher arrive at a home and find no one there, they are required to stay 5 minutes past the scheduled lesson start time before they may leave and consider the lesson a no-show.
If, under special circumstances, a teacher needs to reschedule a lesson, the rescheduled lesson will occur before the end of the academic year.
You release Us, our Instructors, officers, directors, any parent and subsidiary or other affiliated entities, and its Instructors, from any and all liability and responsibility in any case of personal injury, property damage or loss, injury, accident, or misconduct. Our liability to You for any cause whatsoever (including, but not limited to, those arising out of or relating to this Agreement) and regardless of the form of action, shall not in any event exceed the lesser of (a) the actual amounts paid by You to Us or (b) one hundred dollars. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHICH ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED BY AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES WERE FORESEEABLE OR WHETHER EITHER OF US HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
